Founder & CEO, Glue Design Pvt Ltd
NIladri Mukherjee runs Glue Design + Innovation, New Delhi , which is a Product & Retail Design + Innovation company.
His career of 25 years since graduating from NID , has seen him work with over 200 plus companies in the field of Product , Retail and Exhibition Design.
Along with that he has been a serial innovator having funded the complete development of several products like on-line fluid mixing units for Petroleum companies, Handheld device for last mile connectivity in supply chain ( before the advent of smart phones ) , Fuel Average meters for motorcycles and many more.
Glue’s latest patent pending invention “ Quiktile “ a retail transformational system that can help traditional retailers like Kiranas and Chemists convert into a modern format in a matter of hours has been funded by some national and International strategic investors and is now launching in key metros in India.
He likes to describe himself as a Design Enterpreneur and believes that more design firms with a ‘maker mentality ‘ need to transition from ‘advising ‘to ‘doing’ as this is what the country and the world will need for the next decade.
After convocating in Industrial Design from the National Institute of Design (NID) he started his design practice in 1990, along with two colleagues and a great deal of youthful optimism. Adapting to the demands of newly liberalized economy, his team’s focus was directed towards Retail, Exhibition and Product design (and roll-out) for companies serving the fast growing, emerging markets of 90’s India.
Today, with the insights that come with deep focus in the Retail/Product space for over twenty years, Niladri identified several lacunae – and designed products to fit. Quiktile (patent pending) is one outcome of this experience and an urgent need. It is a modular fixturing system that addresses the needs of Unorganised Retail; specifically, transforming the space where Kiranas/Chemists, Brands and Customers’ intersect.
Shifting from Design Services to launching his own Product was a response to the current scenario where service es are fast becoming a commodity. The transition required investing scant time and resources on pilot stores, before successfully implementing approximately 300 stores across Maharashtra, Delhi, Rajasthan and Goa with the aid of seed capital from strategic investors.

Dean School of Design, Pearl Academy
Nidhip Mehta is currently the Dean of the School of Design at Pearl Academy, one of India’s premier design institutes. He grew up and completed his education in the United States and has been a practicing architect for over twenty years. In 2009, he and his wife made the decision to shift permanently to India. Although he had taught design in the US before, this paradigm shift of PLACE coincided with an equally significant realignment of CAREER, and he immediately and fortunately (and perhaps accidentally) became a full-time design educator.
Nidhip was lucky enough in India to find opportunities to teach at the School of Planning and Architecture as well as NIFT, both in Delhi. After a brief return to the US to complete a Masters in Architecture Theory, he joined full-time at Pearl Academy in 2014 in the department of Interior Architecture. He steadily got opportunities to take on broader responsibilities, and in 2015 he was given the role of Dean of the School of Design, a role which covers the academic administration of all design courses at Pearl’s campuses across India.
Some of Nidhip’s areas of professional interests include speculative design, design theory, urban design and urban transport, and trans-disciplinary value-based design education. He did research on the behavior of Millennials and Gen Z, particularly within the scope of design education, which has been a tremendous help in his current role. He believes that design education should be flexible, adaptive, and focused on the constantly changing student mindset while preparing students for wildly uncertain futures.

Narendra Kumar Ahmed
Narendra Kumar’s journey in the Indian fashion industry began in 1990 when he graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). He started off as a designer for Ensemble – India’s first multi-designer boutique that was co-founded by Tarun Tahiliani.
Narendra Kumar, or ‘Nari’ as he is popularly addressed, is the first and the only Indian designer to enter Britain’s prestigious Esquire’s Big Black Book of Style. He was also the fashion founding editor of ELLE India when the magazine was launched in 1996. Kumar was responsible for the conceptualisation and shaping of the Indian version of the fashion magazine. After having helped ELLE take wings, he also worked extensively with Verve magazine.
In 2000, Narendra Kumar launched his eponymous label after acquiring comprehensive invaluable experience by working with various designers and collaborating with India’s leading textile companies. His collection comprised of a complete range of western wear for both women and men.
His style essentially reflects modern silhouettes and sharp tailoring. He ensures to include an Indian touch in his outfits by using rich Indian fabrics and intricate hand crafted detailing. His flagship store in Delhi and Mumbai display a mesmerising array of well crafted outfits that in a mind-boggling range of colours and textures.
What makes Narendra Kumar stand out is his hands-on working style. The designer does his own sketches and is involved in every aspect of creation that a garment goes through. The end result is exquisitely crafted clothes that bear his stamp of design sensibility. He is known for his androgynous styles that are simple and chic – jackets, structured tops, tailored pants and jumpsuits for women that are edgy and modern. However, his repertoire does not end there. His collections for women also include floor-sweeping gowns with bright floral prints, dresses with clean lines that are fashionable and comfortable and beautiful skirts.
When it comes to menswear, his principle is very simple – to make clothes that are wear-able and practical. This is the reason why he reserves all the flamboyance for his women’s wear line and keeps the men’s wear classic. Sharp jackets, smart shirts and tuxedos and classic jodhpuris compete for space amongst bespoke suits in a wide array of colours. He has dressed celebrities like John Abraham, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Kabir Bedi and also designed outfits for many Bollywood movies.
