What’s Next – Education for tomorrow

World Cafe’ style Confluence of renowned principals, leaders of high school education, Industry experts & career counsellors to collaborate and develop a shared perspective towards preparing the learner for the future.

Context

In today’s day & age, technology has changed the way we live, the way young people learn and also the job opportunities available today and in the future. Our leaders of tomorrow are learners of today! Born in the digital world, the ‘always connected, tech-savvy’ youngsters think differently and have developed new attitudes, aptitudes, and approaches. The learners of today are distinct from previous generations; despite having lesser attention span, we know they are ambitious, confident & inquisitive.

India is poised to house the largest youth population in the world by 2020, and account for a third of the world’s working population by 2030 (Cambridge Assessment report 2016). Today the onus is on us. We need to work together to prepare the next generation for success. We need to ensure that every single student in today’s classrooms has the skills, knowledge, opportunity, and motivation to embrace change, set trends, lead the change as innovators and effective leaders of the future.

We have to collectively strive towards an education which successfully engages the gen z learner. They are much more independent than any previous generations and have a strong need to be heard. They are adept at embracing change and are redefining the human values. How might we prepare them to use their unique voice to address issues that concern them? How do we develop their minds to sieve vast expanse of information accessible to them from zillions of sources? We have to reimagine professional learning to grow, feel inspired and have the greatest impact on our students. We need to establish a culture of innovation in our classrooms.

As we celebrate our 25 years of creating impact with creative education, we at Pearl Academy wish to collaborate with leaders of high school education, Industry experts & career counsellors to discuss What’s Next in Education – to collaborate and develop a shared perspective towards preparing the learner for the fast changing future.
